This year's visit to Devil's Den happened last week. On Thursday, we packed our Toyota Corolla with clothing suited for hiking, food and other basic necessities, a million baby supplies, and the dog. And we were off. We were a little worried about the four hour drive with a baby and a small dog, but it went off without a hitch. There was only one episode of tears that required us to pull over twice, but it was smooth sailing otherwise.
At around five in the evening, we pulled into Devil's Den where we met my parents who had arrived a few hours earlier in the day. We quickly unpacked the car and the relaxation began immediately. As an added bonus, Nick's parents live just about an hour away from the park, so they were even able to come visit us (read Lainey) on Saturday. It was a really nice getaway and we were sad to come home!
We learned a few things about Lainey while we were away. First of all, she is not a fan of sleeping in a Pack N' Play in an unfamiliar room. We also learned that she loves being outside and she especially loves hiking! I know I sure wish there were some fabulous places to hike around here because it was just too much fun to listen to Lainey as she said hello to trees, clapped at the fresh air, and screamed her happy screams. Plus, hiking is a form of exercise that I would gladly welcome on a daily basis - even with a seventeen pound baby strapped to the front of me!

How Fun! She just gets cuter and cuter! Our first pack and play exerience wasn't so great either, but each vacation it keeps getting better. Good luck!
Looks like you had a great time! You and Lainey both look so happy!
I've been there! Love that place!
